Film of our Nolton Haven Project
We have now published on this site (see ‘Films’) the short film we have made of our HLF funded conservation project at Nolton Haven Chapel, Pembrokeshire, ‘The Chapel by the Sea’.
The film tells of the extraordinary deterioration, over only one hundred and seventy years, of the chapel’s stonework from a strange process called cavernous erosion: and how this stonework was repaired. The film also describes how the the present day members of the chapel have, as part of the project, developed a small exhibition to memorialise the lives of the now vanished mining community who built it.
A Welsh language version of the project (entitled ‘Capel ar lan y Môr’) will be posted on this site shortly.
