Llanrhian Church in Pembrokeshire, which the practice comprehensively restored in 2008. The church is used as one of the venues for the St. Davids Cathedral music Festival each year.
Frans Nicholas Architects have had a significant involvement in the repair, conservation and improvement of churches and chapels throughout West and South Wales over the last twenty five years. Frans Nicholas has worked as a quinquennial inspecting architect for the Dioceses of St Davids and Swansea & Brecon, and has also undertaken work for the Representative Body of the Church in Wales in Cardiff. He has undertaken the repair of Tremain Church in Ceredigion for The Friends of Friendless Churches, and has completed work of conservation, repair, adaptation and extension to numerous other churches and chapels. The practice has, over the years, obtained numerous major grants for places of worship from the Heritage Lottery Fund [HLF], Cadw, and other national grantors, bringing in somewhere between £3-4m in heritage funding for West Wales.
Several of these projects are illustrated here in the sub-menus under ‘Churches and Chapels’.
